A Message From Mayor Richard F. Turner

Dear Residents, Business Owners, and Visitors,

It is with immense pride and a deep sense of commitment that I welcome you to the relaunch of the Weehawken Business Guide.

Weehawken is a unique place, where we treasure a small town feel right next to the bustle of New York City. From the breathtaking views along our waterfront, to the tranquility of our neighborhoods and parks, our town is truly special.

Whether you have been a part of the Weehawken family for generations or are visiting for the very first time, I sincerely hope this guide will inspire you to take full advantage of all that staying local has to offer. It is a comprehensive resource designed to connect you with the incredible businesses, municipal offerings, and groups that enrich our economy and keep the heart of our community spirit beating.

I encourage you to explore the whole town and take advantage of all the opportunities we have to offer. Note that the guide is also available in print, and includes even more town information, to help expand accessibility.

I hope this guide is helpful. We look forward to improving and expanding it in the years to come, ensuring it remains a vital tool for all.

With best wishes,

Mayor Richard F. TurnerMayor · Township of Weehawken · Hudson County, New Jersey

Weehawken Today

The Township at a Glance

Weehawken is less than 1.5 square miles in total and about a third of that — is water.

That said, Weehawken packs a lot in with literal highs and lows, from the waves lapping at the waterfront of the Hudson River Walkway to the cliffs that overlook the Manhattan skyline and deliver iconic views that stretch from the GW Bridge to the Verrazzano-Narrows and the Statue of Liberty.

With easy access to buses and ferries, NYC is at our doorstep, with trips to midtown taking 8-10 minutes by boat and trips by bus in about 15-20 minutes — without traffic. In fact, in a 2020 New York Times article about a couple that had recently relocated to Weehawken, the area was described as “…a commuter’s dream.”

We have neighborhoods, too: The Heights, Uptown, Downtown/The Shades, The Bluff, Library Hill, The Valley, and the Waterfront communities of Port Imperial and Lincoln Harbor.
